Aftercare Tips:
Microneedling is currently one of the most popular ways to keep your skin tight and beautiful. It is clean, safe, and very effective, but just like with any other skin rejuvenating and tightening procedure, it is crucial to follow certain aftercare instructions, so your skin stays healthy, and you get the most out of your Microneedling treatment.
This is why you should be well-prepared and know what to expect after Microneedling treatment even before you make an appointment. Knowing what to apply to your skin after Microneedling can make all the difference in the long run. Since during the process, micro wounds are being created in the skin, you should not immediately return to your regular skincare routines, but instead be thorough and careful when it comes to the cleaning, healing, and hydrating processes. You should also find the best cream to use after micro needling, one that works well with your skin type.
Who is NOT a Candidate?
Although most patients are great candidates for microneedling, there are a select few who are not.
Microneedling is minimally invasive, however, it does cause micro injuries to the skin, making it imperative that the skin is free of any of the following disorders:
-
Eczema
-
Rosacea
-
Psoriasis
-
Solar Keratosis
-
Raised moles or Skin Tags
-
Warts or Herpes
-
Active Acne
-
Keloids
Any of the above disorders are contraindications and can actually worsen a patient’s condition.
What To Expect After Microneedling
In most cases, immediately after the treatment, your skin will look and feel as if you spent hours in the sun and have a moderate sunburn. It will also feel tighter than usual, which is normal and these symptoms should subside within a couple of hours after your Microneedling treatment. In rare cases, however, they can last for up to 48 hours.
It’s best to ask a skin professional what to apply to the skin after Microneedling. Here some of the most common post-care skin treatments to help soothe, calm, and protect your skin after Microneedling.

Post- Treatment Instructions
Immediately after your Medical Micro-Needling procedure, your aesthetician may apply moisturizer and sunscreen topically. Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
CLEAN
You may clean your face with distilled water before bed for the first 24 to 48 hours after procedure. After the 24-48hr you may use a very gentle cleanser and tepid water to rinse the face over the next 72 hours. Gently dry the treated area after rinsing and make sure your hands are as clean as possible. It is recommended that you do not use powered cleansing brushes for at least seven days after your Microneedling procedure.
HYDRATE
The treated area of your skin may appear much drier than normal after the treatment, which is why it is recommended to use hyaluronic acid as it is excellent for hydrating and restoring your skin’s balance.
HEAL
We at Indulge suggest you use an antioxidant serum, these possess properties that are extremely effective when it comes to soothing the skin and reducing irritation, thus helping it heal faster.
STIMULATE AND REGENERATE
To get the most out of your Microneedling treatment, the use of collagen-stimulating peptides is recommended as this helps the regeneration process and can maximize the stimulation that has already been triggered by Microneedling.
SUN PROTECTION
It’s very important to apply chemical-free SPF30 or above sunscreen to your skin right after the treatment and keep using it for at least a week.
